Model United Nations or MUN for short is a simulation of the
real-life UN, United Nations, where you take the place of a
delegate of a country or an international organization.
The aim of the council is to find a solution to the problems
you'll be given as a topic before your conference just like in the real UN. You'll have the chance to
draft resolutions and find a lasting solution to some important issues today like climate change, and
mark the aim of the United Nations, that is to prevent conflicts and promote international cooperation.
It's a forum for countries to express the views and make decisions together.
To do this there are numerous organs in the UN such as the General Assembly, the Security Council,
the Human Resource Council, Lok Sabha and many more.
In MUN you'll get a chance to try to be a part of these. Resolutions are at the heart of MUN they are a
set of rules and guidelines that countries in the world generally follows about a whole range of things
including human rights, carbon emissions, and war. MUN helps you pick up soft skills like research,
communication, critical thinking and creativity. It also gives you a chance to experience hands on
diplomacy, International Relations, Negotiation and Lobbying. Plus, If you like the opportunity to wear
formal attire or feel you really need the practice, MUN is a great place to do exactly that. Whether for
the committee session or for the delegate’s ball,
MUN is a chance to not only feel smart but also look it.
